It’s Important to Know How to Properly Maintain Your Hot Tub
The First Step Is Filtration
In order to enjoy crystal clear water in your hot tub, you have to make sure your filters are always working to keep the water free of debris and ready for the water treatment process.
Sundance spas use an efficient combination of highly effective filtering, water circulation, and water-skimming processes to guarantee less maintenance. Utilizing a unique horizontal filter orientation for broader coverage, and a circulation pump that filters seven times more water per minute than typical spas. This means you can spend less time maintaining your spa, and more time relaxing instead.
ClearRay UV Technology
Not only do Sundance hot tubs have superior filtration, but they also use ClearRay UV-C technology to achieve the clearest, cleanest water. Standard on most models, the ClearRay Water Management System uses UV-C technology to neutralize 99.9% of waterborne pathogens.
If you want to go a step further, you can opt for a factory-installed upgrade with the ClearRay PRO3TECT Automatic Oxidizer for hands-free maintenance. Designed to work with the UV-C technology, it releases the right amount of ozone to create a powerful oxidizer that doesn’t impact your equipment.
Other features like a tool-free access door, exterior indicator light, digital control panel — and even a smartphone app — are available, depending on the model you choose.
Basic Water Care Steps For Your Hot Tub
While your usage, water quality, and even the weather can affect your routine, the system below gives you a guideline about water care for your hot tub.
After each use, add one capful of shock and one teaspoon of chlorine sanitizer. Close the cover and run the jets for five minutes. After heavy use, be sure to add the recommended amount of shock.
Weekly water care includes using the test strips to check the water, following the simple instructions on the package to adjust pH levels as necessary. If you’re looking to keep the water soft and fresh, you can add products like SunPurity PLUS on the same day each week.
Monthly care includes checking your filters for buildup, rinsing or cleaning them as necessary. If you live in an area with hard water, add scale remover.
Quarterly care includes replacing your MicroClean filter and your SunPurity cartridge. Drain and replace your water every 3-6 months, depending on usage. And don’t forget to clean your hot tub cover to extend the cover’s life and keep it looking good as new.
Annually you should visit your Emerald Spas and Billiards dealer to purchase and replace your ClearRay UV-C bulb. Be sure to replace your filters, you many need to do this more or less frequently based on your usage and the condition of the filters.
